.

.
If you have kids at home,
you’ve probably had plenty of days where you whipped up a quick one-bowl meal for dinner or a daily bite.
.
When it comes to mealtime,
kids often eat much better with a simple one-bowl dish than when you serve a table full of different side dishes.
.
And of course, it’s MUCH easier on the cook, too!
.
Still, if you’re someone who always keeps nutrition and variety in mind,
you might feel like one-bowl meals fall a bit short.
.
Today, I’m sharing a Chicken and Onion Rice Bowl that packs full nutrition into a single bowl.
If you have extra veggies in your fridge, tossing them in makes it even better! 🙂
Whether it’s for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, it’s a filling, delicious, and easy dish you can make anytime.

Chicken and Onion Rice Bowl: Easy One-Bowl Dinner Recipe
.
.
Ingredients
.
- 3 Chicken breasts
- 1 tbsp Minced garlic
- 2 tbsp Muscovado sugar (or brown sugar)
- 1 tbsp Potato starch
- 1 tbsp Soy sauce
- 1 tbsp Oyster sauce
- Cooking wine (Mirin)
- Water
.
.
Instructions
.
1. Soak the chicken breasts in milk for about 30 minutes.
- This eliminates any gamey flavor and makes the meat extra tender and juicy.

.
2. Thinly slice the onions.
- This ensures they cook quickly and absorb all the savory flavors.

.
3) Rinse the chicken under cold water, pat it dry, and cut it into bite-sized pieces.

.
4) In a large bowl, mix the seasoning ingredients well. Add the chicken breast pieces and toss until evenly coated.

.
5) Drizzle some oil into a pan, then spread the sliced onions evenly across the bottom.

.
6) Place the marinated chicken breast over the onions, then top with another layer of onions. Cover the pan with a lid.

.
7) Cook over low heat for about 10 minutes, then stir-fry until evenly cooked.

.
8) Serve over a bowl of warm rice and enjoy! 🙂
