Korean Flying Fish Roe Rice Bowl: An Easy 5-Minute Meal
.
.
.
A little while ago,
I made spicy stir-fried webfoot octopus (jukkumi-bokkeum).
.
I was craving something seriously spicy
— the kind of dish that makes your mouth tingle with every bite. 🙂
.
I prepared some fresh perilla leaves to wrap around the spicy octopus,
a little mayonnaise to cool things down, and flying fish roe on the side.
.
My three little accompaniments were ready to go! 😄
.
But there was one small problem.
.
I had been so focused on what I wanted to eat that I completely forgot to prepare something for my child!
.
I wanted to add another dish without making too much extra work,
and that’s when I thought of Korean flying fish roe rice bowls.
.
I could use some of the same ingredients
I had already prepared for the octopus,
then add a little kimchi or aged kimchi from the fridge.
.
That was all it took to put together an easy, satisfying meal.
.
All you need is a little frozen flying fish roe to make this quick and colorful rice bowl.
It’s perfect for busy days when you want something simple but delicious. 🙂
