- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 2 tbsp muscovado sugar
- 1 tbsp potato starch
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- Cooking wine, to taste
- Water, as needed
- Cooking oil
- 1 onion
- Cooked rice, for serving
- Milk, for soaking the chicken
.
.
Instructions
.
1. Soak the chicken breasts in milk for about 30 minutes.
This step is intended to help mellow the chicken’s odor and make the meat more tender.
.
.
2. Thinly slice the onion.
Set it aside until ready to cook.
.
.
3. Rinse the chicken, pat it dry, and cut it into bite-sized pieces.
.
.
4. In a large bowl, combine the minced garlic, muscovado sugar, potato starch, soy sauce, oyster sauce, cooking wine, and a little water.
Add the chicken pieces and toss until they are evenly coated in the marinade.
.
.
5. Lightly coat a large pan with cooking oil and spread the sliced onion evenly over the bottom.
.
.
6. Arrange the marinated chicken over the onion, then add another layer of sliced onion on top. Cover with a lid.
.
.
7. Cook over low heat for about 10 minutes, then stir everything together.
Continue cooking until the chicken is thoroughly cooked through. If the pan looks too dry, add a little water as needed.
.
.
8. Serve the chicken and onions over a bowl of warm rice, and enjoy! 🙂
.
.
Enjoy a delicious homemade meal, and take good care of yourself today. 💛
