어렸을 땐 느끼지 못한 것들을
한 살, 한 살씩 나이가 들면서
어른들의 행동과 말이 이해가 될 때가 있어요.
As we grow older, there are things we begin to understand that never made sense when we were young.

나를 성장하게 만드는 말과 행동도 있지만
어른들만 즐길 수 있는 ‘음주 문화’도 그 중 하나예요.
Some of those things are the words and actions that help us grow. Others are small parts of adulthood itself—like the culture of enjoying a drink with a meal.

어릴 땐, 밥과 함께 술을 먹는 게 이해가 되지 않았지만,
이제는 밥 반찬은 물론,
술 안주까지 가능한 메뉴들에 매력을 느낄 때가 있어요.
When I was a child, I could never understand why adults drank alcohol while eating.
But now, there are times when I find myself drawn to dishes that pair beautifully not only with a bowl of rice, but also with a glass of something to sip alongside.

아버지가 식사를 하실 때,
항상 소주를 잔에 쪼로록 따른 후
밥과 반찬 한 술에
술잔을 기울이던 그 모습이
어릴 땐 참 이해가 안됐어요..
I still remember my father at the dinner table.
He would gently pour himself a small glass of soju,
take a bite of rice and side dishes,
and then raise his glass for a sip.
Back then, I never really understood why.

그 당시의 아버지의 그 모습은
쓸쓸하고, 힘겹고, 안쓰럽고…
그런 모습과 이미지에 좋아하지 않았던 것 같아요.
To me, he looked lonely, tired, and burdened by something I couldn’t see.
Perhaps that was why I didn’t like that image of him.

아마 그 모습이 행복해보이면 다르게 느끼겠지만요.
Maybe I would have felt differently if he had looked happier.

나름 어른이 된 지금은
남편과 가끔씩 반주를 즐길 때가 있어요.
Now that I’m an adult myself, my husband and I occasionally enjoy a simple drink together.

아이가 있어 맥주 한 캔으로 끝내지만
반찬 한 입을 먹는 순간 알코올이 떠오르는.. 🙂
With a child to care for, it usually ends with just a can of beer.
But every now and then, there are certain dishes that make you think of that first sip the moment you take a bite. 🙂

술 안주로도 손색없는 메뉴를 소개해요.

A dish that’s delicious as a side for rice, wonderful as a snack to enjoy with a drink, and even fun for children when served on skewers.
It’s the kind of meal that brings a smile to everyone around the table. 😉

닭고기 대파 볶음 Stir-Fried Chicken & Green Onions
재료
– 닭가슴살 3 덩어리 (200 g 내외), 대파 3 뿌리, 양파 1 개
– 마스코바도 1T, 굴소스 2T, (페퍼론치노 1T)
Ingredients
- 3 chicken breasts (about 200 g each)
- 3 stalks green onions
- 1 onion
- 1 Tbsp muscovado sugar
- 2 Tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 Tbsp peperoncino flakes (optional)

만들기 Instructions
1) 양파, 대파는 큼직하게 썰어 준비해요.
Cut the onion and green onions into large pieces.

2) 팬에 오일을 가득 두른 후, 양파와 대파를 넣어 센 불에 볶아요.
Generously coat a pan with oil. Add the onion and green onions, then stir-fry over high heat.

3) 닭가슴살도 큼직하게 썰어요.
Cut the chicken breasts into large, bite-sized pieces.
.
4) 양파와 대파의 겉면이 갈색 빛으로 구워지면 마스코바도를 넣어요.
When the onions and green onions are lightly charred and golden brown around the edges, add the muscovado sugar.

5) 닭가슴살을 넣어 볶아 겉면이 익으면 굴소스를 넣어 고루 볶아요.
Add the chicken and stir-fry until the surface is cooked. Pour in the oyster sauce and continue cooking until everything is evenly coated and flavorful.

6) 매콤하게 즐기신다면 페퍼론치노를 넣어주세요.
If you enjoy a little heat, add the peperoncino flakes and toss to combine.
